The guarantee
When you book through Sharelet, your first month is frozen until you confirm you're in, so there is no pot of cash for a fake landlord to take and vanish with. And if a booking handled through Sharelet goes wrong through someone else's fraud and not your own mistake, we return the money you paid through the platform that we're still able to reverse or haven't yet paid out.

Every claim investigated within 24 hours.
The guarantee covers money moved through Sharelet on an accepted booking. It doesn't cover off-platform payments (which we tell you never to make) or ordinary rental disputes, which run through our deposit resolution process. It isn't insurance: we return platform-handled money we can still reverse, and we don't advance our own funds to replace money already paid out. The deposit protection fee isn't returned, because the protection was provided. Full terms: Section 9A of the Terms.
If it's not the place you were promised,
you don't stay.
The scariest moment in renting is your first night in a stranger's home. So we made it the safest: walk in, and if the place is fake, unsafe, or materially different from the listing, you're not trapped. Report it within 48 hours of move-in with a photo or two. Once you've moved out, your held first month comes back in full, and we help you find somewhere else.
It works because your first month only unlocks once you've confirmed the place is real and as described. Until then, your money is yours.
