The Safety Ledger

What we caught,
in the open.

Most platforms hide their safety work. We keep a public diary of it — every scam we blocked, every deposit we refunded fast, every check we tightened. Dated, append-only, and yours to check.

How disputes come out

When a deposit dispute reaches us, we read both sides' evidence and decide where the money goes. Hosts pay us and renters mostly don't, so you shouldn't take our word for it that we're even-handed — here are the numbers instead. The rules our reviewers follow are published too.

No deposit dispute has been decided yet. This fills in on its own as soon as one is — including if the numbers are unflattering.

A decision here settles where the protected money goes. It is not a ruling on who was legally right, and it never affects either side's right to take the other to court.

    Live message screening for renters

Every chat message is scanned in real time. If someone pushes you to pay off-platform or rushes you, a warning appears right under the message.

Published the Sharelet Standard and Renter's Bill of Rights

The commitments every host agrees to, and the rights every renter keeps — in public, in plain language.

    The Scam-Free Guarantee went live

If a verified booking on Sharelet turns out to be a scam, we make it right. It is in writing on our Guarantee page.

Scam Shield now screens every listing

Each listing is scanned for the patterns scammers use — off-platform payment, high-pressure urgency, leaked contact info, prices too good to be true — before it is ever shown.

    Every deposit moved into escrow

Deposits are held by a third party and released only when both sides confirm move-in, so no one can disappear with your money.

ID verification is now required to publish

New listings stay unpublished until the host passes identity verification. No verified ID, no live listing — the moment a host verifies, their listing goes live automatically.
